Sterling Health Care in partnership with the Montgomery County Health Department and CHI St. Joseph Mt. Sterling is offering drive-through COVID-19 testing services beginning Monday, April 6 at the Sterling Health Care – Indian Mound location at 103 Commonwealth Dr, (located by Walmart). Hours are 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and will be adjusted as needed.
The first step to get tested is to call Montgomery County Health Department at 859-497-2448. You will be assessed by a nurse and given specific instructions about where to go and what to do next. Patients can expect results in approximately 72 hours, but should expect longer in some cases.
“Control of COVID-19 outbreak depends on identifying infected individuals and isolating them from others,” said Dr. Richard Hall, Chief Medical Officer of Sterling Health Care. “To achieve this we must have increased test availability and drive-thru testing can provide this for the community.”
An executive order issued by Gov. Beshear on March 9 waived copays, deductibles, cost-sharing, and diagnostic testing fees for private insurance and state employees. Sterling Health has chosen to cover the full cost of COVID-19 testing for uninsured individuals.
“Providing services regardless of the ability to pay, and removing barriers to vital health services is at the core of our mission,” said Alex Conrad, CEO and Executive Director of Sterling Health Solutions.
This testing is made possible through a partnership between Sterling Health, Montgomery County Health Department, CHI St. Joseph – Mt. Sterling, Quest Diagnostics, and Thompson Catering, which provided tents for the site.
It is going to take all of us working together to win this COVID-19 battle, but together we can achieve anything,” said Allison Napier, public health director of Montgomery County Health Department. “I am proud of my community and how everyone is coming together for the greater good.
