I have been working in healthcare for over 25 years. My journey began as a Crisis Line Operator for a Community Mental Health Center. I later transitioned to the front desk. Over the next 10 years I worked as a receptionist, first in Behavioral Health at the health center, and then in Primary Care in a private practice. My time at the front desk in both of those positions is where I learned the ins and outs of insurance, good customer service, and the general workflow of a medical office. Next, I went to work as a Receptionist in a Rural Health Clinic, where I began to learn about Billing, eventually moving into a full-time position as Billing Clerk. That position allowed me to expand my Billing and Coding knowledge and come to appreciate the importance of the Revenue Cycle. Additionally, working in Rural Health provided me with an excellent foundation for my next endeavor – working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
On September 23rd of 2015, I came on board with Sterling Health Care as an A/R Specialist. During my 8 ½ years with the organization, I have been promoted twice – first as Billing Manager, and then as our Director of Revenue.
