June 17, 2024 - PARIS, KY - Sterling Health Care (SHC) is excited to finally unveil its plans for expansion into Bourbon County, officially announcing its intent to open a primary care clinic in Paris within the next few months. The announcement comes four years after the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) opened a school-based health program in the Bourbon County school district.
After months of planning and evaluations, organizational leadership decided the timing was right to expand yet again and extend its range of health service offerings. With the addition of Paris, SHC providers can now be found at clinics in Mount Sterling, Carlisle, Owingsville, Stanton, and Winchester.
“Bourbon County is a great clinic addition to the SHC family,” said Tina Bryant, Chief Executive Officer. “We are thrilled to bring everything we offer to our friends and neighbors in this beautiful area of Kentucky… we’ve listened as many have requested and are glad to finally say, the time has come.
“We have experienced tremendous growth in our organization over the past couple of years, part of which is due to patients already traveling a number of miles to reach one of our existing clinics,” Bryant added. “We are honored to count many citizens from Bourbon County among our patients already and this is just another way we can serve them better. We believe when others find out about everything SHC has to offer, we’ll be able to call them our valued patients and friends as well.”
Patients will find several familiar faces waiting to serve their medical needs at the new location, which will be in the plaza shared by Save-A-Lot and Brightview Paris, among others, on M.L.K. Jr. Boulevard in Paris. Services provided by SHC at the clinic will include primary care, children’s care, pediatrics, family health, and telehealth, with the potential for transportation and translation services to be included by opening day. Community Health Workers (CHWs) will offer assistance with insurance, food insecurities, homelessness, literacy, and other barriers, while those who qualify can receive significant savings through utilization of the sliding fee scale which is detailed online (www.sterlinghealthky.org) or by helpful staff at any of the clinics.
As an SHC patient, services available at the other SHC clinics include women’s health, lactation consultation, dentistry, substance use disorder treatment, on-site pharmacies, urgent care, x-rays, ultrasound, and vision care.
