STERLING, KY - Through its commitment to quality patient care, Sterling Health Care (SHC) has achieved gold status in several cardiovascular health programs offered by the American Heart Association (AHA). In addition to receiving Gold Plus status in the association’s Target: BP program, SHC also received gold level status in the AHA Target: Type 2 Diabetes program, and the AHA Check. Change. Control. Cholesterol program. As a member of these programs, SHC uses evidence-based practices to improve the cardiovascular health of each patient by controlling cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and blood glucose levels. According to the AHA, nearly half of all adults nationwide have some form of cardiovascular disease. High cholesterol, uncontrolled blood pressure, and Type 2 Diabetes are the leading risk factors for these diseases.
